How Scary Is Yoshi’s Adventure at Universal Studios?
It’s been more than 30 years since Yoshi made his debut in Super Mario World and the world has been in love with him ever since. There are many great things about Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan, and one of them is this ride. Still, it’s normal for parents to worry whether an experience may be too much for their kids, so if you’re wondering “how scary is Yoshi’s Adventure at Universal Studios Japan?” I’ve got you covered!
Yoshi’s Adventure at Universal Studios Japan
The official website describes Yoshi’s Adventure as follows: ”Hang on to Yoshi as you search for Captain Toad on a treasure hunt! Use the Captain’s map to find 3 mysterious eggs! Get a spectacular view of the Mushroom Kingdom from Mount Beanpole while having fun on this ride that’s perfect for the whole family.”

Honestly, if you love Yoshi and/or Captain Toad, you might just cry through this ride. I did! Why? Because it’s SO CUTE! My kids LOVED it and we went on it two times in a row. They really enjoyed looking at the theming since it was really immersive and made us feel like we were in the Mushroom Kingdom!

Queue Area
There’s a lot of fantastic theming in the queue area. One of my kids is completely obsessed with Toadette and she has her own section on the queue. If anyone is wearing one of the Super Nintendo World wristbands, there are interactive elements in the queue. Just a heads up — there are a number of stairs to navigate with small kids.

Loading Area, Seats & Restraints
The ride won’t stop for you to get into your Yoshi car, it’s one of those active loading areas. You’ll walk out onto the platform and quickly get into your seat with guidance from a ride operator. The seats are nice and room and the restraint is just a simple lapbar.

Best Things About Yoshi’s Adventure at Universal Studios Japan
We’re all big Nintendo fans in our household, so seeing everyone’s eyes light up (including my own) was so amazing. It was so exciting to see things from the games in real life and they put so much effort into making everything perfect.

It’s also high up within Super Nintendo World so we could look out and see all of the action. Plus, there are interactive elements on the game for those wearing the wristbands and my kids loved that too. I’d go back every weekend if I could!
