Japan

We write about Japan on The Anxious Travelers a lot! That’s because it’s one of our favorite places to visit! It’s just so different than life in North America, so every day feels like an amazing adventure. The 2020 Summer Olympic Games will be held in Tokyo, so it will be exciting to see what changes it brings.

One of the things that makes the country so unique is that they seamlessly combine ancient tradition with cutting edge technology. The amount of effort put into preserving and respecting historic sites while introducing high-speed train systems and WiFi is astounding.

While we plan to add more travel guides to the site, especially after our upcoming trip, here are some of the articles you can already find on The Anxious Travelers:

We visit a lot of theme parks around the world, but we’ve got to take a moment to recommend some of the noteworthy rides at Fuji-Q Highland. For example, the roller coaster with the fastest launch in the world (Do-dodonpa!) is there.  It’s hard to go wrong when you’re getting on thrill rides at the base of Mt. Fuji!

Also, if you’re trying to decide between Osaka and Tokyo, we’ve got to go with Osaka. The food is absolutely amazing, the people are a little friendlier, the prices are better, and it has a lot of what Tokyo has to offer but on a smaller scale. If you’re looking to beat the extreme bustle and crowds, head to Osaka!

Finally, don’t miss Hiroshima. If you can visit, it’s definitely worth it. We’ve only spent a few hours there, but you could easy stay for a whole day. Just make sure you bring some tissues — it’s a pretty emotional place!
